Lagoa do Cauípe
A lagoon a few kilometres south of the village, reached by buggy along the beach. Flat, shallow water with the wind funnelling across it — the classic spot for a first waterstart and for anyone learning to ride upwind. It is busiest in the afternoon.
Getting around
Buggy is the local transport, and transfers to Cauípe are a normal part of a lesson day. Ask your school whether lagoon transfer is included when you book.
Going west
Cumbuco is the eastern end of Ceará's kite coast. The classic downwind runs head west toward Taíba and Paracuru; further along are Icaraí, Preá and Jericoacoara.
Learning to kitesurf here: what to expect
A beginner course follows the same arc everywhere — kite control on the beach, body-drag in the water, then first waterstarts. What Cumbuco adds is the lagoon: flat, shallow water removes most of what makes the early sessions intimidating. The schools below list beginner through advanced coaching.
